AGM 2018: A growing interest for positions on the Board of Directors
Whitehorse, September 28, 2018 - On September 22, 2018, members of Association franco-yukonnaise (AFY) gathered at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre in Whitehorse for the organisation's 36th Annual General Meeting (AGM).
During the morning session, members took part in a traditional brunch accompanied by folk music. Numerous elections then took place during the official meeting that afternoon. The assembly elected Ms. Jeanne Beaudoin unopposed as president. Mr. Davy Joly was also re-elected unopposed as Treasurer. The position of Vice-President was decided by a vote among members, with Ms. Marie-Stéphanie Gasse being elected.
The assembly elected Mr. Christophe Ballet and Mr. Stephan Poirier to administrator positions. The position of administrator which was left vacant midterm by Ms. Gasse was filled by Mr. Mike Fancie for the year to come. They will be joining Ms. Josée Belisle, Administrator, to make up AFY's new Board of Directors.
"I am delighted to begin this new term. I will continue to work on priority issues for the Yukon's French- speaking community in order to represent the interests of the Franco-Yukoners and uphold their rights," announced Jeanne Beaudoin, President of AFY.
AFY sincerely thanks all members who attended the AGM for their commitment to the French-speaking community of the Yukon.
