Meetings with travel professionals in France
The Association franco-yukonnaise (AFY) was invited by the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) to participate in an Air France training day in Paris on April 9, 2015. Travel professionals (tour operators and travel agencies) attended the day which had been organized to promote Air France's new direct flights between Paris and Vancouver and other Canadian destinations, including the Yukon. Edith Bélanger, Tourism Development Manager at AFY, made a 45-minute presentation on the Yukon to 65 travel professionals.
While in France, Edith also met with nine agencies and spoke with 16 travel professionals in Paris and Lyon. She also met and helped two clients planning a trip to the Yukon.
These meetings were an opportunity to promote the Yukon and its many attractions and activities, as well as the fact that it boasts a number of tourism businesses that provide services in French.
This activity was made possible through an agreement between Yukon Tourism and AFY to promote the territory to Francophone markets in Europe for 2015-2016.
