L’Association franco-yukonnaise (AFY)
Together with its partners, AFY, the organization that speaks
for the Francophone community in the Yukon, ensures the creation and development of the services,
activities and institutions that are necessary for the community to reach its full potential.
AFY is responsible for political representation to governments to ensure that they fulfill their
obligations to Francophones. The Association promotes cooperation and collaboration with community stakeholders.

Comité Espoir Jeunesse
The Comité Espoir Jeunesse brings together young Francophones and Francophiles in the Yukon. Its primary role is to strengthen the cultural identity of young Yukoners. It contributes to the development of French language and culture by providing young people with opportunities for personal and social development.
Cultural sector
The cultural sector of the Association franco-yukonnaise has been celebrating French language and culture in the Yukon since 1980, by organizing social, cultural and artistic activities that are open to everyone. The cultural sector is responsible for the weekly Café Rencontres, the Resource Centre (videos and books), the Francophone Film Festival, the radio broadcast entitled Rencontres, visual art exhibitions as well as the annual Sugar Shack, Solstice/Saint Jean Baptiste and corn roast gatherings.
SOFA Yukon
Service d'Orientation et de Formation des Adultes (SOFA) is a one stop service that caters in French to the needs of adults and families in the Yukon with regard to basic and French-language literacy, employment skills, professional development, career development and postsecondary education. In addition, SOFA is in charge of the pilot project on centralized immigrant intake services.
Aurore boréale
Francophone community has had a newspaper since 1983. A semi monthly publication, L'Aurore boréale has a circulation of 1,000 copies and is distributed by subscription throughout Canada, as well as in Europe and Asia. In the Yukon, it is distributed at newsstands in Whitehorse and in Dawson and it can be found in community libraries and schools.
Centre de la Francophonie
In 2001, the Centre de la francophonie opened its doors in Whitehorse. Its architecture reflects the importance of the francophonie within Yukon society and the vitality of the organizations that it houses: the women's group, the economic development, adult education and training, immigrant support and integration, youth and cultural sectors of AFY, as well as the Francophone newspaper.
